Friend's of God (Children's Ministry)
 
‘Friends of God’ is our ministry to children at St. Andrew’s Chorleywood.
Our vision is to bring children into a friendship with Jesus. We work in partnership with the family whose primary role is to nurture a child’s relationship with their heavenly Father. We would love to see you on a Sunday at the church centre or in one of our many MSCs (see below) and/or at one of our mid-week groups.

Bible and Spirit Based
We believe that life is found both in the Word and the Spirit, the Bible’s unshakeable truths and the Spirit’s power and presence. Therefore we teach Biblical principles as well as encouraging the Children to meet and experience the person of the Holy Spirit.
Creative and Relevant
We aim to reach the children on their level, so we use videos, drama, games and other creative resources. We keep things story based and fun so that the power of God’s truth and presence becomes a reality in their lives.

Safe
We consider the health and safety of the children to be of vital importance. We make it our priority to ensure that they are cared for properly in a safe environment.

Sundays
Church Centre & MSCs // Ages 0-11
At the church centre:
Children’s groups for ages 0-11 run in parallel to the 11am service. Sunday mornings are a time to learn about God’s ways, as well as worshiping Him and experiencing His presence. All children’s groups are specifically tailored to the age group of children who attend. Please check signs in the church foyer to indicate where different age groups begin their time.
In MSCs
Many MSCs (Mission Shaped Communities) have children’s groups running alongside their adult meetings. These smaller children’s groups are an excellent opportunity for children to be part of an extended Christian family and grow in community with other children.
We encourage everyone who calls themselves a member of St. Andrews to join an MSC. There are currently seven MSCs who run children’s groups:

• Hand in Hand
• LBH
• Open Door
• The Ark
• The Well
• WD3
MSC children’s groups follow the same teaching material as the church centre and are supported by St. Andrew’s Children’s Department.
VIP Lounge MSC
Tuesdays // 6-7pm // School Years 5 & 6
VIP lounge is an MSC for children to help them go deeper with God. This is designed to disciple children and to bring them into a closer relationship with God. Come along and bring your friends!
Football
Tuesdays // 6-7pm // School Years 5 & 6
We meet on St. Clement Danes Astroturf for a 3 match tournament, please bring £1.00. We play on an all weather pitch, so leaders will be there come rain or shine! Whether children attend in bad weather is at parental discretion.
Backstage
Fridays // 2.45 - 3.10 // School Years 3 - 6
Backstage is a kids club for those at Chorleywood Primary School where we play games and learn more about God.
Termly Gathered Parties
School Years 1-6
Every term we have a party for all the children in the MSCs, the Centre and their friends. Come for an evening of games, crafts and finding out more about being friends with God!
Detonate
28th July – 1st August // 10.15am – 3.30pm // School Years 1-6
A fun-filled holiday club in the first full week of the summer holidays. Detonate is led by an association of churches primarily for the children of Chorleywood. Don’t miss out on this exciting week! Bring your friends!
