Clergy

David W2

David White, Vicar

David is married to Ruth and they have 3 boys.  They have lived in Liverpool, London, Dorset, York and Cornwall before coming to Chorleywood.  David laughs and reads a lot, wishes he prayed more, desires that through his preaching people may find Christ utterly captivating, and thinks working towards making the church a beautiful Bride the best call in all the world.  He loves the sea, and is never happier than when near, in or on it!

RachelRachel Jenkinson, Associate Vicar

Rachel is (very happily!) called to a double portion of life in Chorleywood, having loved her 4 years as Curate at Christ Church, Chorleywood, before moving to St Andrew’s in November 2011, where it’s her joy to join our church family in listening for God and discovering all He has in store for us and our community. In life beyond Chorleywood, Rachel enjoyed a variety-filled Civil Service career; studied (at different times!) physics, for an MBA, and theology - and enjoys nothing better than a day in the company of friends and family.

Andy

Andy Reid, Curate

Andy is married to Jo and they have two ‘young adult’ children. The Reids have a background in aid, mission and church planting, and have lived in the west country, mostly Cornwall, from where they joined St Andrew’s in July 2011. Apart from a ‘shocking lack of coastal footpaths’ Chorleywood is capturing their hearts as they learn to go deeper with Jesus, serve with old and new friends, and assist at the feet of the not-yet saints in and around the parish...surely the best job on the planet!

John Cowan, Director of Prayer, Leader of Prayer Ministry

John returned from being a missionary doctor in Liberia to serving as a GP in Harefield for 24 years. He now leads Prayer and Prayer ministry together with his wife Heather.  For relaxation he enjoys golf and gardening. John has three sons and four grandchildren.

She is looking forward to building relationships with the youth and watching them grow and develop in their own walks with God. Furthermore, she is very keen to continue to make even more people laugh this year, as she considers herself quite funny!

She is excited about working in the villages and is passionate to see lives transformed as the young people encounter

Jesus and grow to love him more deeply.

Tom2Tom Hodkinson, Assistant Youth and Children's Worker in Sarratt and Chipperfield

Tom has joined us from Devon.  He’s just finished at 6th form college, and is really excited about getting stuck into church life up here and building relationships with the youth in the villages. Tom has a passion that the youth would grow in their walk with God and daily spend time in His presence. He enjoys playing football and telling cheesy jokes that only he seems to find funny! The rural lanes and beautiful countryside are very similar to home, and so he won't be missing that too much!
