Prayer at St Andrew's
Intercessory prayer is a central part of our vision. Paul's letter to Timothy reads: 'I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men ... I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing' (1Timothy 2:1, 8).
We love to give thanks and praise to God for all His Goodness and Loving Kindness and as we Worship Him, so we come into a place where we can begin to pray for those things that He has put on our hearts-those things that are "In His Will" that His Kingdom may come on earth "as in Heaven".
God loves to answer our prayers-whether for big things like the World situation or for smaller things that are important to us as individuals-for health and strength, difficult situations, for our friends and our family.
We hold regular prayer meetings which are open to everyone.
