Missional Communities
The body of St Andrew's is made up of mission-shaped communities (MSCs).
MSCs (Mission-Shaped Communities) give a fresh and exciting new expression to our life as a church. Our vision is to be so filled with the Father’s love that we cannot resist giving it away. We believe that MSCs are a creative and God-given way for our church to know Christ and make him known. We are a large church and it would be very easy to be lost in the crowd. Belonging to a MSC means that you are part of a committed and loving family, where everyone participates and is encouraged to use their gifts. Each MSC has a name and a clear mission purpose and is no larger than fifty adult members. MSCs are bringing the fathers love to the lost and the poor in diverse and creative ways – whether that be an age group, a need, or a neighbourhood. Everyone gathers at St Andrew’s on the fourth Sunday of every month for a time of celebration and we believe that as we disperse God’s presence goes with us. Every MSC is led by a team from St. Andrew’s church family tasked to find new ways to worship, to build community and to share their faith. There are currently 37 MSCs and we encourage everyone who regards St. Andrew’s as their spiritual home to join a MSC.
When and where do MSCs meet?
MSCs meet regularly at times agreed by their members, either on a Sunday or during the week, in a wide variety of venues around Chorleywood and the surrounding area; school halls, community centres, etc.
How do I join a MSC?
If you would like to join a MSC or you would like more information please leave your details at the welcome desk or contact Rita Field rita.field@st-andrews.org.uk, 01923 447111.
